Portalis LIVE Dance Performance at Chirst Church Cathedral, Waterford

Dance project choreographed and danced by artistic collective Sandpaper&Mash, comprised of Friederike Anna Zinn and Alexandra Bierlaire, for a cross border performance in Waterford .

The title of the performance is “grab my hand; or my foot”: Moving through time, land and waves until we arrive.

This live and free performance is one of the creative / artistic narratives exploring the journey of migration between Wales and Ireland by taking experiences from personal stories of the artists of travelling around Europe, finding the curiosity in moving, seeing and settling within today’s society.

Reminiscing on the same journey that our ancestors took over thousands of decades after consulting both the archaeological artefact coming out of the Welsh excavation and being included in the Welsh exhibition (temporary and legacy).

The artists are discovering their own multinational adaptations, journeys and stories by reliving the ancestors’ stories on the base of the landscape they lived in and the artefacts they left behind through change of society, climate and countries.

Irish composer Marian Ingoldsby has contributed sound snippets which will form part of the dance installation.
